Q: What are the software requirements?
A: MyWebsiteTalks can run on any Windows PC, including 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP, and MAC users running Virtual PC. A sound card, and Microphone are required for recording.
Q: Is it compatible with Macintosh?
A: No, at this time there's no Macintosh version available. If you have Virtual PC installed on your MAC, you can use it. Please download the demo to determine if it will run on your system.
Q: What are the minimum hardware and software requirements?
A: The minimum requirements are:
- 64 Mb memory or higher
- Harddisk with at least 5 Mb free space
- Pentium II 300 MMX minimum
- Sound Card
- Microphone
Q: Im a total Newbie, I dont know how to edit a webpage, Can I use this?
A: Probably not. You'll need to know the basics of editing a webpage in order to copy/paste the generated code into your webpage. Consider getting your own website from Site-Build-It! where you can easiliy edit your webpage code thru their online interface. In addition, You'll need our file hosting service.
If you dont have a web site, but want to use it for sending audio eMail, posting "audio ads" or including Audio on your online Auctions, you can use this software in conjunction with our audio hosting service.
Q: Does this really work? How does adding voice to my site affect my business?

Q: How does the software work? A: MyWebsiteTalks is Windows software that will allow you to record a voice message, convert the sound files to streaming flash audio, and generates the appropriate files necessary for you to stream sound from your website or emails. It does it all in one simple application making it ideal for newbie, or seasoned webmasters alike. Q: How do I make a recording?
A: Real easy, just launch the software, and the wizard will walk you through it. You'll need a sound card and microphone. Chances are if you purchased a PC within the last 5 years, your PC already has both. Just click on record in the software, and start talking. View the tour here. Or watch our Training Videos here...
Q: How can I use a sound file I already have recorded?
A: Easy, if it's an MP3 file, just import it into the software. If it's another audio file format, you'll need to convert it to MP3 format, then import it. MyWebsiteTalks does not convert other audio formats.
Q: Do I need a website or hosting account to use My Website Talks?
A: After generating your audio files, they'll need to be "hosted" somewhere on the the internet. MyWebsiteTalks offers two options for publishing your audio files. You can upload them to your own server using the included Upload function, or we can host your audio files for you on our high speed servers. Either way you choose, clicking once on the publish button takes care of it all. See hosting options for more.
Q: Can I add sound to an affiliate site I am promoting?
A: Not with this software, you can only add content to a website that you own and can upload content to that server. Having an affiliate ID or link from another wesbite you are promoting does not mean you can upload content to that site. You'll need to have FTP access to your own server or webhost. If you dont own your own server or hosting account, but you want audio to appear on your affiliate website, you could use this software instead.
You can however, use the email function and we can host your audio files, If you dont have your own website.
Q: What are the recording time limits?
A: You can record a message from a few seconds to over an hour. It depends on the amount of disk space you have with your hosting provider. A typical 2-3 minute voice message is approximately 300 Kilobytes large.
Q: What file format does My Website Talks use?
A: MyWebsiteTalks uses FLASH™ based streaming audio due to its exellent compression, sound quality, and Universal reach. Unlike Real Audio™or Windows Media Player™, FLASH™ does NOT require any plug-ins or downloads. It is already in use on 98.6% of Windows and Macintosh computers worldwide.
Q: Can I try it before I buy?
A: Yes, you can download our free trial here. The trial will allow you to explore the entire program, and even make some test recordings. In order to publish your audio files, you'll need to purchase a license.
Q: Is this compatible with my web page editor?
A: Yes, as you only need to copy/paste some HTML code, any web page editor will work.
Q: Would this slow down the downloading of my website?
A: Not at all. Our software generates streaming MP3 files. These files will stream when clicked on (or you can set them to AutoPlay on page load). Streaming is much different from heavy graphic files which must load before you can view them. A streaming file will "stream", meaning it plays as it downloads. No download time is added to your website when adding our voice buttons.
Q: How does this software differ from other solutions?

Q: How can I re-download the software if I loose it?
A: Look at your emailed receipt, it includes the re-download URL and your UNlock code. If you've lost this email, siimply re-download the trial version here, then get your unlock code emailed to you here. If you've changed email addresses since your purchase, email support and include your emailed receipt.
Q: How do I know if I have a microphone and sound card on my computer?
A: Look at the back of your PC. You should see a card with 3 or 4 inputs, like this:
Q: Can I use this on more than one website?
A: Yes, you have unlimited use. There are no restrictions.
Insert a microphone into the MIC input, and you'll be recording your own voice messages in minutes!
Q: Can you recommend a microphone I should use?
A: Yes, currently you can receive a FREE microphone with your order. Details on the microphone are posted here.
Q: How do I add music to my audio files?
Adding music to your files is an optional function, it would require a seperate software solution, or an MP3 editor. We've listed some resources here.
Q: Can I see the audio player buttons you include?
A: Yes, please visit the Gallery <Click Here>.
Q: Can I use my own Audio button designs?
A: No. Only our provided controls will work. Players are added regularly. We add new control buttons every few months. Registered software owners can download additional button controls free of charge. Click here to view our current players.
Q: Can the audio play only once per page load?
A: No, You can set your audio to either play when the page loads, or have your visitors click on play to hear your audio. The only way to have it play once would be by using cookies. We do not support this feature. If you're an advanced webmaster, you may be able to accomplish this with the use of cookies.
Q: I use a control Panel to manage my website, can I use this software?
There are two requirements to getting audio to stream from a website.
1) You'll need to copy/paste a bit of html code into your webpage. (Very easy for control panel users)
2) You'll need to UPLOAD the generated files the software creates to your server. (This step can be very difficult if your using a control panel)
The best situation for control panel users would be to use our software in conjunction with our hosted audio service, as this will make it much easier to do.
